Investor Ready Pitch Practice Sessions
Pitching startups to investors is no easy task. Securing capital is a process and while it can be overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be. Working with a pitch coach helps founders sharpen their pitch.

These 30 minute office hour style Pitch Practice Sessions give founders focused time to refine their 90 second verbal pitch or receive a pitch deck analysis from award winning pitch coach, Amiah Sheppard.
These Pitch Practice Sessions are designed for entrepreneurs (1) preparing to pitch investors at Demo Day and/or during LA Tech Week and (2) who would like to establish a strong pitching foundation and (3) raise capital from an accredited investor, Venture Capital, accelerator programs, pitch competitions, and/or other funding institutions.

Black Business Pitch Competition by Sonder Impact
We’re back for another Black Business Pitch Competition, going down Thursday, March 2nd at Sip & Sonder, a coffee roastery and coffeehouse in Inglewood, CA!
The Black Business Pitch Competition by Sonder Impact is a prize competition that provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative products, technologies, or services in particular industries.
Eligible applicants consist of founders who are members of a group that has been traditionally underrepresented in the receipt of startup funding.
Up to 10 finalists will be selected to move forward to Round 2 and participate in a live pitch competition on March 2nd at Sip & Sonder, where each finalist will pitch their business to a panel of expert judges in front of a live audience. Judges will award a total of $5,000 to three prize winners!

Amiah is an impact enhancer. As an organizational and industrial consultant and internationally sought out pitch coach, Sheppard combines transformational leadership, holistic self-confidence training, and strategic development with tested methodology that position her clients' companies for funding immediately through her firm, Sheppard Consulting Group.

Olamide Olowe of TOPICALS
For our first Fireside Chat of 2023, we’re honored to be sitting down with Olamide Olowe, past winner of Sonder Impact’s Black Business Pitch Competition, and Founder and CEO of Topicals, one of the fastest-growing skincare brand that is transforming the way we look at skincare through effective science-backed products and mental health advocacy.
During Sonder Impact’s 4Q 2018 Black Business Pitch Competition, Olamide, at the time a student at UCLA, pitched Topicals and came in first place. Two years later, Topicals officially launched.
Since then, Olamide has gone on to become the youngest Black woman ever to raise $10 million in funding, and was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2002 for her previous fundraise of $2.6 million. With Topicals, not only is Olamide setting a new standard in beauty, but also destigmatizing the way consumers perceive their skin-related conditions.

We’re back for another Black Business Pitch Competition, going down Thursday, October 27th at Sip & Sonder, a coffee roastery and coffeehouse in Inglewood, CA!
The Black Business Pitch Competition by Sonder Impact is a prize competition that provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative products, technologies, or services in particular industries.

Autonomous LA | Hackathon for Tech Driven Liberation
Join us THURSDAY 10/20 at Sip & Sonder Inglewood for the AutonomousLA Hackathon!
AutonomousLA was inspired by the groundbreaking work of BLD PWR and their liberation focused work challenging and opposing systemic harms. Technology has historically been leveraged against BIPOC communities but when incorporated in our own innovations possesses the force to create solutions for climate response, environmental justice, community action and safety.
This series was created as an Impact and Design Initiative to support the next generation of technical innovation as a tool to overcome systemic forces of oppression, environmental harm, and biases embedded in emerging technology.
By hosting community conversation and design driven hackathons, we seek to enable intersection of critical functions of the local ecosystem e.g. designers, technologists, activists, investors, big thinkers, and community members who are bullish about real change.
