Who We Are

Sonder Impact (f/k/a the LA Black Investors Club) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering Black communities to take ownership of their personal and professional capacity building by spearheading programs and initiatives that have a measurable impact on individual and collective development. Sonder Impact works with various nonprofit and corporate partners to bring our vision to life. Our three current initiatives are Entrepreneurship, Well-Being, and Brewing for Good.

Founders

Sonder Impact’s co-founders—President Amanda-Jane Thomas (right) and Vice President Shanita Nicholas (left)—are both attorneys and co-founders of affiliate Sip & Sonder, a global specialty coffee roastery and portfolio of coffeehouses headquartered in Inglewood, CA. Amanda-Jane holds a B.A. from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Shanita holds a B.S. from Columbia University and a J.D./M.B.A. from Columbia Law and Business Schools.
